Privacy Policy

Arc is built so that your day stays yours. It has no backend, no user accounts, and no analytics or tracking. This policy explains what that means in practice.

1. Who we are

Arc (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is published by Byte Insights Limited. Arc is a personal day-planning app for iOS and Android that visualises your day on a 24-hour dial. This policy applies to the Arc mobile app and this website.

2. What Arc stores, and where

Everything Arc creates is stored locally on your device, using your operating system's standard app storage. This includes:

• Routine blocks — the recurring activities you define (category, days and times).
• App settings & preferences — such as your chosen weather location and display options.
• Sync state — if you enable calendar mirroring, small tags that let Arc recognise the events it manages.

This data is not transmitted to us and we have no ability to access it. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it (subject to any backups you have configured in your own operating system or cloud account, which are outside Arc's control).

3. Calendar access

With your permission, Arc reads events from the calendars already on your device (for example iCloud, Google or Exchange accounts you've added to your phone) and displays them on the dial. If you create or edit an event in Arc, it is written back to your device's calendar store.

• Arc accesses your calendar only on your device, through the operating system's calendar APIs (EventKit on iOS, the Calendar Provider on Android).
• Calendar data is never sent to us and is not stored on any server. There is no server.
• You can revoke calendar access at any time in your device settings. Arc will simply stop showing calendar events.

4. Location & weather

To show a local weather forecast alongside your day, Arc needs a location. You can either grant location permission or type in a city manually. This is the only feature that sends any information off your device.

• When weather is enabled, Arc sends a location (your coordinates or the city you entered) to a third-party weather provider, WeatherAPI.com, to retrieve the forecast.
• Arc requests only the forecast — no account identifiers are attached, and results are cached to minimise how often this happens.
• Weather is optional. If you don't grant location access and don't set a city, no location is ever sent.
• You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.

5. What we don't collect

To be explicit, Arc does not:

• Require or offer an account, sign-in, or profile.
• Include analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party SDKs that profile you.
• Collect your name, email, contacts, device identifiers for tracking, or usage statistics.
• Operate a server that receives or stores your personal data.

6. Third parties

Arc relies on a small number of external services strictly to provide its features:

• WeatherAPI.com — receives a location to return a weather forecast, as described above. Its handling of that request is governed by its own privacy policy.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — distribute the app and may collect their own download and diagnostic data under their respective privacy policies. This is standard for any app and is not controlled by Arc.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone, because we do not collect it in the first place.

7. Retention & deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you control retention. Routine blocks and settings remain until you change or delete them, or until you uninstall Arc. Calendar events are governed by your calendar accounts, not by Arc. There is no server-side copy for us to retain or for you to request deletion of.

8. Children

Arc is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction).

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA to access, correct, or delete your personal data. With Arc, you can exercise these directly: your data is on your device and under your control, and you can view, edit, or erase it at any time within the app or by uninstalling it. Since we hold no personal data on a server, there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete on your behalf.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how Arc handles data, we'll update this page and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected in a new app release. Continuing to use Arc after an update means you accept the revised policy.
