Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Arc mobile app and this website, provided by Byte Insights Limited. By downloading or using Arc, you agree to them.

1. Acceptance of these terms
By installing, accessing, or using Arc, you confirm that you accept these Terms of Service and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, please do not use Arc. If you are using Arc on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for it.
2. Licence to use Arc
We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use Arc on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal purposes, subject to these terms and the rules of the app store you obtained it from.
3. Your content & data
Arc stores the routines, settings, and any events you create locally on your device. You own this content. Because Arc has no backend, we neither host nor have access to it. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups (for example through your operating system's backup features). See our Privacy Policy for details on how data is handled.
4. Calendar & device access
Arc can, with your permission, read from and write to the calendars on your device. You are responsible for the events you create, edit, or delete through Arc. We recommend treating your primary calendar app as the authoritative record and reviewing changes there. Arc is a convenience layer over your device's calendar; it is not a substitute for it, and we are not responsible for calendar data loss caused by your device, your calendar accounts, or third-party services.
5. Weather information
Weather forecasts shown in Arc are supplied by a third-party provider and are offered for general information only. Forecasts are inherently uncertain. Do not rely on them for any purpose where inaccurate weather data could cause harm or loss. We make no guarantee as to their accuracy, completeness, or availability.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Arc for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems or third-party services Arc relies on.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app or misrepresent it as your own.
7. Intellectual property
Arc, including its name, design, dial visualisation, code, and branding, is owned by Byte Insights Limited and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you beyond the limited licence described above.
8. Third-party services & app stores
Arc is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play and uses a third-party weather provider. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your relationship with the app stores is separate from these terms. Where an app store's terms require specific provisions, those provisions also apply to your use of Arc obtained from that store.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
Arc is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Arc will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data, forecast, or calendar operation will be accurate or reliable. You use Arc at your own risk.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Byte Insights Limited will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, Arc — including any missed events, scheduling errors, or reliance on weather information. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
11. Changes & availability
We may update, modify, or discontinue Arc or any of its features at any time. We may also revise these terms; when we do, we'll update the “last updated” date and reflect material changes in a new release. Your continued use of Arc after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using Arc at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place of business of Byte Insights Limited, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
